The Wunderwall
The Wunderwall is the material representation of artworks that have been collected in a mix & match manner. It’s a self- curated backdrop of small (or affordable) artworks by the hand of young and emerging artist in various media and styles.
Gallerists Sofie Van de Velde & Jason Poirier dit Caulier started their art collection already in their twenties. By collecting smaller (and therefore affordable) works from different artists, their collection became an eclectic mix of sizes and colors. Imagine paintings, drawings, photographs and editions hanging criss-cross on the wall.
As we have noticed a larger growing group of collectors who are specifically looking for young and emerging artists, we have moved this format into our galleries, where we have devoted a space to a constant-changing Wunderwall.
In our shared gallery space, we reserve the central wall for artists who are not (yet) bound to a gallery, to show their recent works. This Wunderwall project forms the common ground between emerging artists, who are looking for visibility, and young collectors, who are looking for new discoveries.
